      Pros

      The organization is very mission driven. Generous sick + vacation time accumulation for full-time employees.

      Cons

      Demoralizing culture (lack of appreciation towards employees, favoritism, etc) Adverse to change Very little opportunity to progress within the organization (it takes many years to even consider getting promoted) Lack of professional development opportunities Subpar healthcare coverage for those not based in California The staff retreats are not an enjoyable time to look forward to. It is just an opportunity to gather all the regional staff together to talk about business the whole time. This company does a poor job in recognizing and rewarding employee efforts.

      Great place to learn and grow out; issues in admin/hiring

      Pros

      Some of the best people I've ever worked with. Lots of passionate and fun individuals. If you are driven and a good worker, you can really get the most out of the org professionally (networking, knowledge etc.). Benefits are also good.

      Cons

      Leadership doesn't listen to staff when there are serious problems with bad hires. They often reward lazy and incompetent people simply to avoid the conflict or challenge. The worst part I'd say: HR. Lots of really good employees use this place as a launch pad for other orgs bc they don't pay or promote until their hands are forced--lots of times this is because HR holds things up and is sadly incompetent.
