Lack of concern for employees

Pros

It's a good stepping stone job. You can just show up, do what is asked of you, and not really have to care about it.

Cons

The president of this company, Chad Meyer, once made fun of a person with disabilities -- making a "joke" and saying: "I wish -tard was still around for his savant soldering skills." He literally appended the word "(re)tard" to someone, behind their back, after they had been let go, and then laughed about it. Nobody else in upper management questioned him, and casually laughed as well. I asked him: "did you just say -tard?" He looked me straight in the eye and said, "yes".

Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn, they have a lot of different technologies always coming in and out. Great people, made a lot of friends here. And pretty good benefits.

Cons

Low pay, don't expect to make more than $18 an hour ever. And there's absolutely no room to move up here, it is marketed to the employees that you should move on after gaining some experience.

Pros

The few people I worked with were considerate and easy to work with. Generally a low-pressure environment. There is downtime but that can be a pro or con. For me, it was about 50/50. My immediate manager was great.

Cons

The pay is a little low but that's hardly only this company, with the cost of living changes over the last two years at the same pay I went from being tight but not stressed to paycheck to paycheck. from my experience no raises or reviews for possible raises. The major downside is job security, if your project ends or is canceled there is always a question of there being somewhere for you to go. You are employed W2 by Novus but paid for by a client. I was moved to other projects a few times but for this last one, I wasn't so lucky.
