Pros

No pros for this role.

Cons

AVOID!!! I worked here for 6 months - firstly, it was advertised as not just calls but also online queries & emails. This is incorrect, due to the amount of calls received because of people constantly leaving due to such an awful job and the culture there's not enough staff to deal with the work load in all departments. Therefore, no emails/online queries ever get answered which means you take the abuse for it on the phones. Managers don't care, also there's only one or two who actually understand your role majority of them don't have a clue about what you do. Unrealistic expectations whilst working from home that will probably carry over once in the office again. Managers don't check in on the well being of their staff, people always leaving due to the awful environment and abuse you get on the phone and a lot more signed off sick. You're just a number and they don't care about you. I didn't know one person that enjoyed their role there. Managers always speak to us like crap, now it's just on an online chat so everyone can see. Never seen managers publicly send messages in the way they did to their staff. Every call is a complaint due to everything so badly managed and delayed but you're the only ones who get the abuse on the phone for it and can't do anything about it. Worst place I've worked at, avoid at ALL COSTS.

Pros

You will appreciate your next employer a lot more. You don’t have to worry about working your notice as Optima has a reputation throughout Leeds as a Chinese Sweatshop so employers in Leeds wont be too bothered about referencing from them. The salary will make you more humble and sympathetic of poor people because you once were one working at Optima. Easy to get a job there if you've got no experience (they're desperate for applicants)

Cons

Mental health problems, a number of us on my old team were signed off work sick due to this at some point. My manager even emailed me once criticizing my Dr for the amount of time he'd signed me off for. Management will suddenly change how your job should be done without notice and fail your audits resulting in career damaging disciplinary proceedings. (presumably to enhance their personal profile in how 'active' they are as a manager.) The parental controls are ridiculous, if your workstation is inactive for as little as a few minutes you’ll get an email from you manager asking for example what you were doing between 11:03 – 11:05 last Thursday? I even recall getting an email that was sent to all employees saying ‘Big Brother is watching you’ Obviously there’s never going to be enough room in the cons section but you get the idea...

Pros

Nice, friendly colleagues. Trainers are helpful.

Cons

High turnover of staff. Calls can be very busy and you can very often receive a lot of abuse on calls from unhappy customers and will receive little support from management.
