Pros

The only good part about Packt is the facilities team, who are extremely capable of handling their job.

Cons

The list of cons keep increasing with a company like this: 1. The management includes a series of dimwitted individuals, who call themselves competent and capable. 2. The management is filled with unethical idiots who do not know anything of how to do their job. But are well trained in the art of training dogs and Pigs. 3. The HR team is filled with idiots who have no idea how to run an organization. And will deliberately hold back alot of information to keep you confused. 4. The HR team (If you've read any of the previous reviews) comes up with new ways to withhold the company from paying its employers. For example, taking out new policies just to withhold the salaries of half the execs, dissolving departments overnight (yes this is true, 7 ppl sacked in a day!!). All in all, as many of the current employees even predict, the company as a whole will be brought to its knees by the end of 2020.

Packt Response

Hello, There has been a lot of news, in the past couple of weeks, about changes in Packt. We're realigning current job roles, bringing in new talent, re-energizing our product line, and rebuilding relationships, both inside our office walls and outside, while continually taking many other qualitative steps to strengthen and evolve Packt for the future. And, yes, sometimes change means making tough decisions. It’s also very important to understand how purposeful our changes have been. These moves are really about our continued efforts to create a more agile and efficient organization that can thrive in a time of constant change. If you want more context around all of this, please do not hesitate to write in to tateam@packt.com; we are happy to take any questions you have. We cannot thank our current and ex-employees enough for supporting Packt, and for their continued focus in driving us forward. I would like to emphasize that your contributions have always ensured that we drive meaningful change and progress. Best, Team Packt

Pros

*No need to work, Easy to grow if you make friends or are favoured by your manger *You have complete freedom, as managers care about their KPIs only *Very health conscious managers, after all health is wealth (helps if you go to the gym and drink protein shakes) *Your manager’s performance depends on your’s, so you are allowed to manipulate your performance, and show inflated (or deflated) numbers

Cons

*Constant change in processes without proper justification of why it is important. Common answer received is it was decided from the ‘top team’. *Your friends keep leaving since people are always on a hunt for better opportunities and compensation. *Exceptions made to award people Manager of the Month while on probation (against company policy) even though all the work was done by the previous manager. *If you are not in the right circle, you will never be promoted. You will be promised promotions, but they won’t even lift a finger to retain you.
