Pros

Some excellent colleagues with a genuine desire to help clients.

Cons

Staff morale terrible, colleagues sacked on the whim of manager regardless of their performance, no place to turn to express feelings, all staff desperate to escape, basic job requirements not provided by management - internet connection terrible, no training offered to new starts, no staff reviews, no feedback, managers unaware of processes (hence why no training), managers only there on a power trip but HR and senior management refuse to listen to staff concerns leaving staff frightened to speak out for fear of losing their jobs.

No job security and do not value staff enough to support them

Pros

Frontline staff constantly go above and beyond for their role, are very passionate about their jobs and work well as a team together. The salary is good, and the office is nice, bright, and modern. The company uses Perkbox which is an excellent benefit and a way to feel rewarded. The company goal of helping 1 million lives feels good to be part of.

Cons

For a company that values being rated one of the top 50 places to work in Scotland and demonstrates wanting to get back there they do not seem to value their staff. Since April 2018 7 members of staff have been sacked/let go. People are let go under the guise of not performing well when really it is because they do not agree with senior management, or because they are not liked by senior management. Less than a month ago a Company Director came up to the Scotland office and reassured everyone that nobody else would be sacked and we could feel secure about our jobs. Since then one more person has been let go and while Management say they don’t intend on letting anyone else go it’s a bit difficult to believe them when they seem to be able to let people go so easily without following a proper disciplinary or improvement plan process. Blatant bullying in the office, and clear to everyone the Team Leader role was not respected by senior management, and the Team Leader was constantly undermined at every turn. Team Leader was not even told that interviews were being held to fill 2 roles in the Team they managed, and was shut out from the recruitment process. This was after a meeting was held in which everyone was told the Team Leader was being investigated for fraud and would no longer be in post. It was clear senior management wanted to get rid of the Team Leader and now they have. After an official HR investigation barely any of the action points have been completed. Topics suggested by the team for coaching sessions have been ignored in favour of reading contract guidance off a big screen, no monthly team meetings and no team building event organised. People are afraid to speak out for fear of putting a target on their backs. Senior management want us to trust them but it’s difficult to when we don’t even know if we will be employed in 3 months time. I would not recommend this to anyone as the anxiety caused by the lack of job security is not worth it.
