Pros

Strong team attitude. Management willing to listen, and act, on concerns or suggestions from employees. Dynamic work environment with strong team dynamics. Good environment for learning and being involved 'hands on" with many different aspects of engineering.

Cons

Nice size company with occasional growing pains. Recent changes have improved work life. Sometimes hard to find qualified people to grow teams.

Pros

If you're a hands-on type of person and you like working in an environment where you can learn a lot, RedViking is a great place to be. Lots of very unique projects, lots of different industries (automotive, aerospace, construction, military), and lots of smart people to surround yourself with. Since we design custom-engineered equipment and solutions, every project/quote/opportunity brings with it new challenges and new technologies, and it definitely keeps things from getting stale. Projects tend to be pretty fast-paced, and if you're willing to take initiative, the company will definitely give you more responsibilities. Most of the upper management rose through the ranks as engineers at RedViking (formerly Superior Controls) themselves. The company has been going through a growth period, which has both pros and cons, but in general, it's an enjoyable place to work. The company is big enough to tackle projects of pretty serious magnitude, but small enough to where you can get to know most of the employees (around 220 people), and morale around the office is generally pretty good. Nice onsite gym, great cafeteria, good people.

Cons

Lack of career development programs/opportunities. Lack of a unified vision among the upper management.

Pros

RedViking is always looking for ways to make the company better for their employees. They just added more benefits and last year threw in an extra mid-year bonus because the company has done so well. It's not perfect but the negative reviews I see posted here are not true in my opinion.

Cons

The company is in major growth mode, always looking for more engineers - who isn't? This leaves the rest of us at times working double duty. Overall the managers cut you some slack when the work slows. It's peaks and valleys.
