Pros

Great culture, phenomenal coworkers, innovative office, great location, great product, CEO is average but deserves the role.

Cons

This company has an ego issue like no other through upper management. They are cashing stock options and don’t care what the gears of this company do or how they feel everyday. They are ran by an egotistical leadership team headed by the President of Revenue (can’t convert to save his life), a People Leader that has never heard a meeting and executives that should really listen to the people on the front lines. Great product horrible revenue leadership. Horrible people leadership. Product team and CEO don’t deserve the level that the revenue team is getting. Watch the investors and the freight market eat through revenue leadership & watch them get nervous.

While we appreciate, and even encourage feedback - good and bad - it's clear that our values don't mean much to you. We have many avenues for internal communication to listen to our team members, which you've chosen to bypass here. It sounds like you have an issue with leaders who empower their teams to Own the Work. That's ok. We wish you well and realize our environment isn’t for everyone.

Pros

I’ve had a really good experience working at Relay Payments. The team is genuinely supportive and people actually want to help each other succeed, which isn’t something you find everywhere. It’s a fast-growing company, so things move quickly, but that also means there are a lot of opportunities to learn and take on new challenges. Leadership is more accessible than what I’ve experienced at other companies. There are regular updates about where the company is headed, and leaders are visible and engaged with teams. The culture feels collaborative and pretty down-to-earth. People work hard, but they’re also willing to jump in and support teammates when things get busy. I’ve found most people here to be smart, motivated, and genuinely good to work with.

Cons

Like most startups that are growing quickly, things can change fast. Processes evolve, and sometimes you have to adapt as the company figures out what works best at scale. Goals can be ambitious, but there’s also a lot of focus on coaching, improving systems, and helping teams succeed as the company grows.

Pros

I don’t think working here has provided me with anything exceptional.

Cons

To put it simply, the leadership of Relay Payments is fake and awful. Our leaders pretend like everything here is great, but they verbally abuse and yell at employees behind the scenes. In fact, the leadership often blames the employees for everything that goes wrong in the workplace. Our leaders never take accountability for their actions, and they’re quick to blame employees for their own poor decision-making. I don’t recommend this company, especially with its current leadership.

Pros

The product is solving a real problem in the industry. You feel like you're helping people. The company is a true disrupter. Your shares could be worth something some day. If your current job is straight up trash, then this place is probably better.

Cons

Leadership tries to say people here are hungry, humble, and smart. Most people are one of those things. Some are 2. Maybe a handful are all 3. 50% of middle management is not humble and kinda full of themselves. They talk trash or tattle on you to make themselves look better to upper management. It's wild. Favoritism is rampant. The other 40%? Not the brightest, so you’re stuck doing their job too. And the last 10%? They actually know what they’re doing but aren't recognized because they aren't out here trying to flex on everyone.

While everyone's perspective is unique, we believe our people to be our very best and most important asset and we couldn’t be more proud of the team we’ve assembled. As you know, if you have a specific concern about someone, there are numerous channels internally to report/discuss.

Pros

From my experience, there are none. Working here only leads to suffering.

Cons

If you want to avoid being exhausted and drained all the time, stay far away from Relay Payments. Workloads are relentless, support is completely absent, and employees face constant yelling and pressure from leadership.

Pros

Founders very clearly care about what they are doing and why they founded the company. Incredibly smart people you get to work with.

Cons

Some members of the leadership team made it difficult to meet performance standards, but positive changes have been made to fix that.
