Pros
I started this job November 2022 and was laid off August 31 2023. I truly thought I would be at the Ryder brokerage for years and years. I was devastated that they laid me off. I constantly onboarded customers, won awards and had management training. Everything was looking up for me. Out of no where, they placed a PIP [performance improvement plan] on me. Saying I was not generating any margin, even though for years I was constantly told to just continue to bring in business, we can lose money, it will be ok! I brought on huge companies also. It just was not good enough. Pros to Ryder, felt like a true community, excellent benefits and coworkers.
Cons
If you treat the brokerage like a frat house, you will get frat house quality....SUCH AS: people drinking at their desk, smoking vapes, hooking up in the handicap bathroom. YUP casual hookup in the upstairs bathroom. They will hire right out of college people and treat the office like a college party and is shocked when those employees don't succeed. They award and keep the good boys and reprimand the women. I was 30 when I was laid off and I was one of the eldest women.
