Pros

Some teams and locations are supportive and collaborative, with genuinely committed staff doing their best in challenging circumstances.

Cons

Employee experience varies significantly by location; in at least one site, staff treatment and support fell well below respectful expectations. Senior leadership direction changes frequently, making it difficult to prioritise, deliver work to completion, or feel confident that effort will lead to lasting outcomes. Strategic focus can feel reactive rather than considered, which impacts morale and long-term planning. There has been a noticeable level of senior staff turnover, with limited transparency around the reasons, which can create uncertainty for remaining employees.

Pros

would be a good stepping stone if you want the experience

Cons

Pretty toxic environment, no internal collaboration and direction, poor product lack of basic stability. Things are always broken without sufficient support system. Management seems to be disconnected with the reality, people, operation and a product customer needs. zero leadership and constant pressuring, the level of micromanagement is choking you EVERY SINGLE DAY. The problem is they don't know enough to micromanage. They just keep pressuring you, is all due to the lack of experience, skills, and understanding the teams’ pain point and what they do. When you raise concern or problem, they just ignore because they do not know how to problem solve and support the team but keep pressuring them to deliver. Constant layoffs, people come and goes is a norm. no internal growth opportunities, it is all about who you know in this company, thats why you have a lot of people on the top do not know anything. Your voice matters if you have the right connections.

CRO is tanking the company

Pros

Free pizza until you're sick of it

Cons

Awful management. Company changes priorities every other month and expects employees to adapt over night. Senior leadership is toxic, has hands in cookie jars they don't belong in. CRO joined and verbally bullied people in meetings, in normal conversations he will cut anyone off and talk over them, everyone was afraid to stand up to him and other senior leadership just let it happen. He wants to turn the company into a "cult" (his words). He let go of a dozen employees who loyally worked for the brand for 5+ years, only to re-hire their roles for lesser salary. No diversity on the team. If you're a person of color, look elsewhere, it's not worth it.

Pros

You get to work with a lot of passionate, talented people who really care about what they do.

Cons

Management and communication are extremely poor, and the workload is overwhelming with little to no structure. There’s almost no transparency and equality around internal opportunities or career growth. Promotions and recognition are often pre-determined and depend more personal connections with leadership or management than on actual merit, experience, or qualifications. It’s very unprofessional and discouraging, don’t expect to be considered for growth if you don’t have the right connections. It’s also frustrating to see how easily empty promises are made, creating an overall unprofessional environment. Mid-level managers tend to manage upward well but often fail to communicate effectively or support their teams. They frequently ignore feedback and ideas that could improve processes and workflows. Additionally, the numerous layoffs have only added to the overall sense of uncertainty and instability.

Pros

Amazing mission the company has. Trying to support small local Pizzerias is truly remarkable.

Cons

Tech is extremely behind. Can’t compete with Toast, owthe tech is very far behind. POS seems to never connect the right way. Box delivery was a disaster for local shops, Once Slice gets over that curve it’s truly can be a monster of a company but they can’t keep putting out bad product because you make your sales people look like a joke and making the company look horrible . The micromanaging is crazy. Upper management needs to listen to the team and make adjustments if not this mission will fail and a competitor will come in and buy Slice out. How do you sell a product that doesn’t work that well…… and you don’t believe in

The tech is far behind

Pros

weekly pizza credit, unlimited PTO

Cons

After being with this company for a while, you start to understand why they still call themselves a startup after 10 years in the industry. The mission is great, but the technology is extremely outdated. The product operates in a way that anyone experienced in restaurant tech can immediately see is headed for failure, yet they continue down the same path. The way they normalize repeated technology failures is honestly shocking. On top of that, management and leadership are major issues. There’s no real culture or direction. They hire people to “run the show” instead of people who can actually do the work or lead the team, the managers don’t know how to collaborate with team members who have different perspectives. They run the team like a political campaign. There are no clear methods to measure success or scale the business. They keep using “startup” as an excuse to stay disorganized, burning budget, constant changes and layoff, bringing in managers with no real leadership skills and filling meetings with empty buzzwords. The worst part is that everyone treats this as normal.
