Pros

Executive positions often have a decent salary and bonus structure. They are great in the pre-opening process but are expanding rapidly and spreading themselves thin. They are a very young company. Often they do not see things through when you request support. The president is great and has set forth an excellent standard for the company culture. However it is not enforced or followed by the rest of the corporate office which is who you have to work with.

Cons

The President encourages idea sharing and open mindedness, asking that we as a company remove "this is how we've always done it" from our vocabulary. However consistently I would be told by Sales and Revenue that exact thing, or "we would never", " I've never heard of that" and dismiss you. Then months later one of them will then put that suggestion into practice - and they still treat you with disrespect. You have NO FREEDOM to negotiate with a client. In Sales you basically become a middleman, having to contact someone from the Corp office to get permission to negotiate. It can take a day to a week (again because they are spread so thin opening multiple hotels a year) to get a response and 90% of the time the client has moved on. I had a blast initially working for this company, but there is so much red tape to get through to get your job done. So like I said, "maybe one day" they will be a great company. They have some growing pains at the moment (hence a high turnover rate for GMs AGMs and Sales).

Pros

Good hotel systems like quore.

Cons

Too much gossip! You can work yourself to the bone and have no recognition. Micro managing. Deceiving hotel. No support. Management Expects everything, provides nothing. Watch who knows who. Everyone backstabs each other. Including upper management.

Pros

Sales. Very detailed and structured.

Cons

Trying to make all of the hotels run on a one size fit all system. All brands and locations are expected to follow same routine and rules. Don't expect to make a decision for the hotel you are responsible for, but do expect to be held accountable for upper management's poor decisions, and no support from them once things fall apart.

Springwood Hospitality Response

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. I am pleased to hear you were happy with the sales structure and detail in that area. They work very hard to be the best in their markets. It is unfortunate that you felt you couldn’t make a decision at your property and that you weren’t supported. We are committed to creating a collaborative environment for all of our associates, at all levels. We do our best to bring on managers that have the ability to share their experiences and knowledge so we can continue to grow as a company. We value the opinions of those that are in our employment. We regularly bring together our management teams to share ideas and implement many of those ideas. However, there are times that our growing company needs to focus on consistent processes and procedures. This is why all of the franchises we participate with have brand standards. As we continue to add properties it just isn’t feasible to have all of them doing everything differently. One of our Springwood Essentials is to Challenge the Status Quo and we have recently implemented daily huddles, among other processes, that will give us additional opportunities to receive more feedback. Thank you again for the response as it helps make us a better employer and we do wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Justin
