Pros

generally we are well respected at the wynyard branch and are provided with plenty of benefits as westpac staff.

Cons

I've always loved working for st george, however i have been shocked in the last 3 weeks since management refused to close the branch when the aircon stopped working in 30 degree plus summer heat. This is due to "customer experience" a majority of our customers were upset due to the heat and sincerely upset to know that we were being forced to work in such conditions. this has happened 3 times in three weeks with conditions reaching 35 degrees and upwards. its vvery upsetting to know a company i have loved working for has such little regard for employee safety, a majority of us became sick due to the horrible conditions.

Pros

Friendly staff, nice costume, pay on time, good sales prospect.

Cons

Lowly-educated managers who spend all day micro-managing its staff. Small things such as 1 minute, business attire (sometimes you are not allowed to sit all day) rather than how to satisfy employees and customers. Career advancement is equivalent to none. And if you work in Haymarket you have to deal with Hobos most of the time.

Pros

Good team feeling at lower ranks Can get away with pretty much anything if not in management

Cons

Abuse by staff of senior management's drive to be a "best employer" leads to middle management powerless to make things good for those actually prepared to work. No support to do the right thing, just to do what looks good to external "moderators"
