Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at StenTel full-time for less than a year
Pros
Saying that you work in an office downtown? Really nothing, to be honest.
Cons
Minimum wage pay for most people; Harsh working conditions; Zero appreciation for employees which leads to extremely high turnover. No longer ANY ability to work from home in this role.

RecommendsPositive OutlookI have been working at StenTel full-time
Pros
StenTel is a positive workplace. You get what you give; the only limit is yourself. Coffee is always free.
Cons
Expensive parking in downtown Springfield. There are no other cons. These two sentences are filler to meet the requirement of 20 words in this field.

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at StenTel full-time for less than a year
Pros
The CEO has an open door for all employees. If someone has an idea, management listens. If you do good work, you are rewarded. There isn't much employee turnover; most people have been here for at least 5 years - some for 20 or more. The working environment is comfortable and most employees are pleasant to work with.
Cons
Not everyone who works here is cut out for spending long days at the keyboard transcribing medical, legal or insurance audio files. That's not so much a con - it's just a fact of life. Once in a while someone will just lose it and will have to quit or be fired. Those are the people who usually end up making negative comments about the company.

Pros
The people here are great! The are very flexible with schedules and working with you to make sure you can keep your full time status and the work is easy to understand and get to a point where you can actually afford to live. They offer us some amazing benefits! It is definitely the best job I have had.
Cons
Last minute phone calls do happen. Also occasionally you will get a file back, we are human, it happens.

RecommendsPositive OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at StenTel
Pros
My schedule as an independent contractor is pretty flexible. The manager I have is really awesome to work with. The account I was assigned to pretty much always has work, so I'm never dealing with running out of work like I've had with other companies. StenTel is very clear about how they will be paying you, so there are no surprises, and I've never had an issue getting paid on time. Overall, fabulous company to work for!
Cons
The pay can be somewhat frustrating, but this has absolutely nothing to do with StenTel, but rather the transcription industry in general and trying to stay competitive in a difficult market, so I really don't consider this a con of the company. You are paid for what you do, so you do have control over how much you make. No real cons that I've experienced.

Pros
Great earning potential, managers don't micro-manage, option to work from home, very decent benefits, and almost everyone I've met, colleague or supervisor, is friendly with a happy, fun vibe.
Cons
I honestly can't think of one. For me, this job is ideal.
