Pros

Patients, coworkers, less restrictions on what you're able to do with the patients

Cons

Administration doesn't care, serious neglect of patients, high employee turnover, lack of staff to take over for next shift and regularly getting stuck for hours without ability to leave, serious lack of supplies and provisions for patients

Pros

It's a good job, there just isn't enough staffing which makes it tiring. The actual tasks that need to be done are simple, just tedious and exhausting as the only tech on the floor.

Cons

Dangerous patients (due to their severe mental illness) with no security for nurses, MHAs and ancillary staff. High chance of getting attacked so you have to be on guard. Overnights had just barely enough staff to operate and they constantly asked us to pick up shifts. Burnout was very real here.

Pros

Some staff are pleasant. Pay is higher then other places but it isn't not worth it if you aren't there for the money.

Cons

Techs sleep on the job. Nurses over medicate to put patients to bed day or night. Doctors are leaving or are getting fires for touching patients. Housekeeping is rude and don't do their jobs. Facility is far from ethical. Their groups are beyond disappointing. There's been multiple undue deaths. You don't get paid to work through your break. Understaffed, undertrained. The place is a business. They don't care about the employees or the patients. Keys don't work.

Pros

- The staff is very friendly - Overtime - you can work as many hour as you’d like, there is absolutely no cap - The occasional bonus incentives

Cons

-Severely, SEVERELY understaffed -Unsafe due to lack of staff - no backup when patients assault - overwhelming amount of things to do by oneself while trying to fulfill patient demands -Benefits are abysmal - like not having any but paying a chunk of your paycheck for them -Never have enough supplies or food for the patients (mind you this is a psych facility - imagine how angry a non-psych patient gets when they are hungry and on meds that make them hungrier - just some food for thought) - you will get harassed to pick up shifts every day And the kicker - Pay is unlivable unless you’re a nurse or do tons of overtime (which people do and burn themselves out because so many people call out/quit/no show and they’re left alone on a shift they picked up) -Nurses - money does not compensate for everything - they also get burnt out because there aren’t enough nurses - I’ve seen veterans walk out Look I’m not saying don’t work here because staff is very kind, the place has potential, and it can be a wholesome experience but do not be surprised when you get there, the place needs help, it will be rough until they fix their staffing and supply issues (which will take time).
