Pros

This experience is regarding the Global Delivery Center of Syngenta that is in Baner, Pune. I was recruited in Syngenta through Randstad recruiting consultants like all others. Salary hike is decent.

Cons

Job profile that was advertised and promised is completely different than the actual work. Ex: People recruited as Service Delivery Mgrs. are doing the job of Incident managers. Company and Randstad made a lot of false promises. Ex: There was no mention of shift work, yet ppl are being forced to come in shifts. Variable pay is 15 to 25% of the pay depending on employee and the history of payouts has been very dismal. I along with others were told that they have paid close to 100% of the variable. There is little or no growth. It is a very flat organization and chances of promotion are slim to none. In general, if you are career minded and like challenging environment, like occassional business travel, want to learn something new...this is NOT the company. Stay away from Syngenta, Baner, Pune...

Pros

Overall, Syngenta hiring process is good, they spend good amount of time to screen the candidate and offer good pay package post screening

Cons

There are too many cons that I can’t describe all of them but would like to highlight below points before you take decision to join the organisation. 1) People are living is scary environment where they thin they would be fired at any time without reason. One of the reason for this fear is that Syngenta GFO team hired the people with good pay package but almost 50% attrition is seen 2021 itself & it could be that current management has a target to bring down the head count. 2) Around 11 managers out 15 have already resigned and left the organisation in GFO I2P space. 3) GFO I2P head and supporting HRBP runs the process as if they are running the grocery shop. No broad level approach, 4) While making allegation GFO I2P management team uses the word that don’t suit to corporate world. They even speak the which are used by hooligan 5) Work life balance in GFO is pathetic because people are spending around 14 hours on daily basis but still no motivation or encouragement hence people are getting frustrated. There are many reasons apart from above but thought sharing only these many so that individual can go through it and make concise decision before join this organisation. So guys if you are thinking to join this organisation especially GFO I2P team then please please please think twice before taking the offer else you will land up in wrong place & might spoil your own career

Pros

Syngenta has a great vision but with no mission. You never understand what is ahead but you have to keep moving. Great place for somebody who like real challenges (not the job role challenges but role clarity challenges). Salary is good but soon after joining you release that money is not everything.

Cons

This is no growth / promotions because it is not possible when you report to the 1 or 2 levels down the CIO. Growth means you need to shift your profile itself. So all of a sudden who was a chemical engineer became a IT Manager. What a nice combo you get IT from silicon. Be aware the variable is actually vari if able!
