Pros
I worked at tpt retirement solutions for almost 10 years (then the pensions trust) it was a great place to work, a real family feel to the company. Everyone was welcoming and the vast majority would bend over backwards to help. City Centre working and parking if you are one of the lucky few. Core hours are 10am - 4pm. A small Christmas bonus if you are one of the lucky people.
Cons
Over the last 3 or 4 years i have watched as the business crumbles, mostly due to the very abrasive management style of the senior management team, be prepared to be shouted at and and belittled on a daily basis. Under no circumstances is disagreement with the management allowed, tow the line and keep your head down and you may be ok. Staff turnover is quite ridiculous, people come and go on a weekly basis, they often leave under a dark cloud with no explanation. A number of departments are running at almost 100% staff turnover in a 2 year period, this leaves no continuity or structure within the business and as such processes are lost or just forgotten. The new staff are generally thrown in at the deep end with little training and expected to learn on the job. Training is promised from day one, however the number of hoops you must jump through mean only a few only ever have the budget approved. Forget working from home, only a very select few were ever given the privilege. Pay rises and bonuses are also a thing of the past, unless you are part of the inner circle. Requests for time off are often met with suspicion and refused if its a busy period for the company. Days are long and pay often doesn't reflect workload or expertise, flexible working isnt something the company will allow. There have been a number of 'incidents' in recent years and now the company is a place of mistrust and fear, Christmas parties cancelled, talking and socialising is actively discouraged. The office is a solemn and silent place, you could hear a pin drop most days as staff fearful of uttering anything that could be deemed as inappropriate or offensive. Since leaving the company earlier this year a huge weight has been lifted, i wasn't aware how working at tpt was effecting my work life balance, I'm a much happy person as a result.
