      Stay Clear - (My opinion) Sinking Ship

      Pros

      -Work on sophisticated hardware -Able to grow and learn through engineering peers. Co-workers are very intelligent and encourage internal learning. This allows for one to thrive when cross-functional team work is required for company growth.

      Cons

      -Business model constantly changing, with each change moving into areas where successful competition already resides. -Favoritism to certain employees -Have to fight to get needed resources to finish projects and expected to find alternatives to required resources, wasting valuable time. -Super late nights go without thanks and are expected -In my opinion, metaphorically speaking, company is the Titanic with the leader represented by Bruce Ismay.

      I appreciate you leaving your feedback and providing your honest perspective. Based on your input, I want to apologize for your feelings of favoritism towards others and your feelings of not being acknowledged - that experience for any team member is unacceptable. Since reading this, we have implemented a few tactics in our team structure and meeting rhythms to better acknowledge our team members. I care strongly that every team member has an equal playing field and is provided the same level of attention and support as the next team member - regardless of their title. I know we have more work to do, but our culture has already prospered from these initial changes. In addition to those changes, we just closed our Series B financing round and have established a strong strategy moving forward, so we are excited about the future given this momentum.       Work on robots Build things that run on real robots Anything you work on has a huge impact Small team -- no bureaucracy

      Cons

      Doesn't seem to understand that most hotel housekeepers don't like to be called maids Doesn't seem to understand that most hotel housekeepers speak Spanish and very few of the engineer staff do CEO lacks experience, makes technical choices and expects engineers to just do it Culture is too "startup bro"-y. Too much beer pong, not enough work-life balance

It’s extremely important that our team members get to live a healthy lifestyle that supports both their personal and professional lives. In recent years, we have set up more company holidays while encouraging team members to take the time they need to refresh (our company policy entails unlimited paid time off). We also agree on the importance of providing respect to room attendants and all of our clients and partners. In the past year, we have incorporated a more rigorous hiring process to ensure we are adding team members that have strong skills with a clear cultural fit.
