Nice People, No Stability

Pros

- Good pay - Good benefits - Beautiful place - Lots of challenges

Cons

- You are just a number - No stability - Bad business practices Unfortunately, Tejon has a little bit of a history of laying people off due to losing money via bad business practices (not a failing economy or loss of customers). They, unfortunately, end up creating money-sinks instead of things that profit them. This isn't always laying off people 'low on the totem pole', and when the time comes anyone is fair game to get cut. There is no 'probationary' period and they use 'at-will employment' to cover most issues.

Pros

Beautiful place to work at times. Some managers are great. If you are motivated there are opportunities for education and on the job training.

Cons

Severe weather at times, ever changing politics. Pay is below LA county standards for those that commute from the south. Cronyism and nepotism. Poor performing employees are allowed to perform poorly while high performs are not adequately compensated or acknowledged.

Pros

Other employees are good to work with they are good people

Cons

Management is not good some are very hostile and demanding and makes environment toxic and stressful. Pay its no good management gets large bonuses but employees doing the work get the small or no bonuses we dont feel valued or respect, cost of living goes up but pay doesn’t go up enough to balance out
