Pros

• The technology at Tobii is innovative and exciting to work with, especially for those interested in cutting-edge eye-tracking solutions. • Up until 2022, the company culture was strong, with good communication and a smooth transition back to office life after COVID. • Some colleagues were genuinely nice and supportive, making collaboration on smaller projects enjoyable.

Cons

• Management is non-transparent and overly focused on fake positivity instead of addressing real issues. • Salaries were unfair. I later discovered that (male) colleagues with the same job title were being paid more than me, despite similar qualifications and contributions. • Onboarding was inconsistent and often nonexistent, leaving employees without proper support or guidance. • The lack of clear career paths or structured mentorship programs made long-term growth difficult. • Layoffs created a toxic and competitive environment where collaboration was replaced by self-preservation, and trust within teams eroded. • Gossiping among colleagues was common and undermined team dynamics. •Performance reviews often focused on personality traits instead of actual contributions. Feedback like, “you need to learn to control your emotions,” or “grow thicker skin on your nose” was unproductive and demotivating. • Leadership did not handle concerns well, often dismissing feedback or emotional responses during difficult periods, such as layoffs. • Development lacked a coherent strategy, leading to inefficiencies and a sense of aimlessness in project execution. • Code reviews and team collaboration often felt unstructured, with unclear expectations and, at times, hostile dynamics.
