Why the revolving door just below the C-Suite?

Pros

Met some good dedicated employees and freelance workers.

Cons

Lack of any real industry solutions or capabilities since 100% of delivery services are freelance contractors. Model has been successful as providing staff augmentation to clients, but all intellectual capital and outcomes are owned by the clients or the freelancer. Toptal is simply a staffing platform broker who marks up the freelance talent. Great if you need a plumber, but not if you're planning to build a bathroom.

Pros

Toptal has been my favorite place to work so far! • The flexibility of remote work is amazing. • I’ve had the chance to work with fantastic clients. • The internal team is supportive, talented, and a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Sometimes it can take a bit longer to find a new engagement if you’re looking for opportunities in Asian time zones. In my experience, Europe and the Americas tend to have more opportunities and faster matching.

Pros

One of the aspects I enjoy most about being a QA Lead is the opportunity to work on a wide variety of interesting projects. Some engagements start with little or no established QA processes, which allows me to design, tailor, and implement quality assurance strategies that fit the client's specific needs. I find it rewarding to build effective QA practices from the ground up and see the positive impact they have on product quality and team efficiency.

Cons

One of the challenges of being a QA Lead is balancing hands-on testing and technical work with leadership responsibilities. As projects grow, more time is spent on planning, mentoring, process improvement, stakeholder communication, and team coordination, which can reduce the amount of time available for direct testing and automation work. It also means taking ownership of quality outcomes across the team, even when issues arise outside of your direct control.
