Leadership culture is extremely dysfunctional and abusive to employees, entering into unreasonable agreements with funders to chase money, and throwing staff under the bus. When staff are unable to meet unreasonable expectations, or they dare to speak their opinion about how unreasonable the expectations are, abuse and retaliation can be expected. Human resources is complicit and facilitates this toxic culture. There has been tremendous turnover in the past few years and it is accelerating rapidly due to worsening conditions. It's a very sad state. On the upside, new hires seems to be getting offered better (sometimes near-market) compensation compared to staff who've been there longer. But there are no cost of living increases, no annual reviews, and employees stay at the same salary for years and years.
