Pros

The team is very driven and hungry. Everyone is extremely intelligent, fantastic at what they do and willing to take time out of their day to work with you to level up and get better at your role. Given the size of the quickly growing team, this is something that I do feel is unique to Troops over other startups. Additionally, the product genuinely brings value to its users and is constantly evolving.

Cons

Those that come with any startup - long hours and sometimes balancing work/life can be difficult.

Pros

Everyone from the CEO down the interns are all intelligent and pleasant people to work with. The overall work culture is welcoming and engaging. No one's ego gets in the way and everyone works toward common goals together.

Cons

Priorities shift often and quickly. You have to be ready to keep up if you want to work here.

Pros

Hands-down, this is the best place I've ever worked. - Radical ownership of the product is expected and encouraged. If something's not great, you can make it great, or you can advocate for it to be work that we take on as a team. (This also does wonders for eliminating recurring complaints and cynicism.) - The product really makes people happy. We actually get unsolicited feedback from customers who are delighted that we turned hour-plus loathesome grinds into a few minutes of poking buttons in Slack. I find it intensely gratifying knowing that the time I've spent helping to build this really does make the world a better place. - The people are amazing. Everyone here brings something different to the table. Folks aren't egotistical, and everyone's easy to talk to. I don't just respect my co-workers, I actively /like/ them. - We get to be party to how the company is built. We all get recaps of the board meetings, and the founders aren't shy about sharing their vision. Not only are we contributing to the creation of a new enterprise, we are learning how it's done. - As an engineer, it's been fascinating learning how a serious sales operation is built and run. - Taking time off is encouraged. No one wants folks to burn out.

Cons

- The hours can be a little long. We are still a startup :-) (This is mitigated in no small part by a reasonable flexibility in work hours and the ability to work from home when needed.) Anything else is a peccadillo. Our marketing and UX could use some stepping-up now that we're no longer a "beta" product; not coincidentally, we are looking for dedicated folks to fill those roles now.
