Pros

Most of your coworkers are there to help you succeed. Vacation Rentals is a booming industry

Cons

The owner will tell you how amazing your job will be and all the great plans, but in reality, it will all fall flat. The owner and his family members who work for the company are the only ones allowed to take a vacation. Employees who are not family receive rude comments from the owner leading up to and after their time off. No matter what your job title is, it could change tomorrow, and you might just be forced to take on more with no pay increase. Meetings with the owner are a buzzkill! The owner will make passive aggressive comments about everyone in the company in a seemingly nice conversation. BE PREPARED TO FIGHT FOR A RAISE IF YOU WANT TO WORK HERE LONG-TERM. Despite being a small business, the owner only gives raises on whim, not on an annual basis.

Pros

A paycheck. Don't work here if you want to be happy, it wont last long

Cons

Disorganized. Micromanagement with zero direction. The CEO makes very poor business decisions and then blames others when there is fallout or it doesn't make him enough money to pay for his next vacation. There is no work life balance. You are expected to work 24/7 and that isn't enough to get everything done. This is not the company to work for, if you enjoy being in hospitality.

Pros

Maybe you might make a friend at work, but the CEO doesn't want us to be friends. I cannot think of 1 thing that I really liked about Utah's Best Vacation Rentals. The CEO is pious AF and every once in a while he will phone something in but it doesn't even come close to actually caring.

Cons

where to start. No benefits, (okay a weak retirement thing but the CEO always bragged like he was so generous. ) no health, no life, no insurance. nothing, they want us to use our personal phones with no reimbursement. Pay is lousy, lots of big talk when we interviewed, but none of it comes true, my coworkers felt the same. Don't even think about a raise. CEO is too busy buying new cars and going on vacation every other week, then telling everyone in the office his business and "money woes" and using his favorite phrase "when we're profitable". There were times when I wasn't sure I was even gonna get a paycheck or even have a job. but as long as he has horrible tacky clothes and tacky cars everything is fine. The worst part is that he says so much stuff. "He's really gonna buckle down, and work more", bonuses, he tells everyone his business in the office like we should be sorry for him. He doesn't care about you or your family. He will patronize the heck out of you tho, and try to snow you over. He talks really loud to make sure everyone can hear him passive-aggressively. Our office shared a wall with his and we could hear everything, he trashes EVERYONE behind their backs. Worst he gains personal sensitive information about the workers, and then shares it with other people and violates trust. When he reads this he will say I'm the crazy one, not him, and I'm wrong. He literally doesn't have the ability to consider his actions and how disrespectful and entitled he is. He needs a life reboot and needs to stop acting like a snobby brat, that doesn't think poor people are with his time. It's always everyone else. His fake apologies are ridiculous. He acts like he is a big powerful man CEO. I would never want to be with anyone even like him. I can't think of 1 good quality, Family - pretty much the CEO's entire family was on the payroll when I worked there, that should tell you everything you need to know. I guess this is how you teach your kids the value of money and hard work, pay them to do nothing, dont even talk about being accountable. Most family members show up and do what they want when they want and that's even if even show up at all. And its totally all excused. Working wise - It's horrible, we used to dread the CEO coming in. He is loud and obnoxious, he is a constant distraction. He thinks everything is so important. He can never focus. His worse trait is that he NEVER follows up or follows though. New Day, new focus. If he could focus.
