Pros

nothing I can think about… maybe that you are outside all day bothering business owners?

Cons

everything. They lie to you about what you are interviewing about. They tell you its a management position but its a door to door sales job where you haggle people over their office supplies. they don't tell you this until you show up for a "shadow" day

Pros

You get to practice small talk with strangers that could potentially lead to them offering you a job to save you from this one.

Cons

Where to begin... -Disengenous, to say the least. I noticed management replied to negative reviews on here stating that a base salary has been implemented, and I was indeed told that I would have a base salary option in my interview, but there is NO base salary whatsoever and that has not and will not change. You're told as a trainee that there is a $200 bonus "just for showing up on time" for your training week, but it's actually contingent upon you making a sale while you're still in training which nobody achieves so almost every trainee is left working 50+ hours for absolutely nothing. -You spend money to work here. Gas to get to the office in Westminster, gas to get to your territory (which could be as far as Lyons or Pueblo, something they don't tell you til after you're hired and get a territory assigned. I regularly clocked over 90 miles in one work day), gas to get to "office nights," paying for whatever the office nights are (don't think you can skip them to save money either, you'll get harassed if you do), and money for repairs and maintenance to your vehicle after start/stopping all over your territory. -100% commission, NO base salary, you're not an "account executive" you're a door-to-door salesman in territories that have been beaten up by countless company salespeople before you for the last 20 years. They try to brainwash you into thinking that you're helping business owners, but it's very clear how tired and annoyed the business owners actually are of the revolving door of Quill salespeople. -LONG hours for little pay. They lead you to believe it'll be a 9-5 type position, but that doesn't include the hour and a half "morning hype" session where they play high school games and try to pump you up with overly enthusiastic "motivational stories" that you eventually realize are just ploys to keep people from slitting their wrists at how depressing their lives have become at this job (and these morning sessions are mandatory, but of course you don't get paid for them), as well as the "breakdown of your day" at the end of the day. All in all, most people were devoting 7:30am-6:30pm to this job and once you get promoted to Leader then you have to get to the office even earlier, and none of this includes the office nights or weekend activities. Basically, there is ZERO work/life balance which is made even sadder when you realize that most of the people in the office are working that much for *maybe* $30k/year, when competing companies are offering $80k/year to employees willing to invest that much time. It's honestly sad to see how naive and brainwashed some of the employees are, especially since this company definitely preys on recent college grads and people in desperate circumstances. If you have bills to pay this month and don't have the luxury of waiting around for 3 months hoping that things will get better, I highly advise you to stay away from this place and find one of the many better options out there that actually reward time and hard work. If you read the 5 star reviews and think they sound too good to be true, that's because they are, and were probably written by management and the few employees that have stuck around to sip some more of the Kool-Aid.

Pros

The people are unbelievably friendly, helpful and warm. I would hang out with any and all of them on the weekends. They answer questions fully and make sure one knows how to do the job properly. Experience gained is also extremely valuable.

Cons

From the start this company is very misleading. On both interviews (there is a short initial one followed by a full day shadow) they paint a picture of "unlimited growth" and "unlockable potential." They show that you technically can earn bonuses and a decent salary, but no one ever does. Not one time while I was there did someone earn over $700 in a week. They paint a picture of what it could be, but that case is extremely rare. Basically, you have to pay to work there. Gas is not compensated (even though they will paint a picture that it will be). Hours are 8-6. Every expense is on you while every gain is on the company. There is also the misleading claim this company recruits new employees for the company in order to provide experience on training and interviewing for already existing employees. However, they really recruit so heavily because the turnover rate is so unbelievably high that they must recruit 20 a week just to keep the ball rolling. By the time my first two weeks were over, I was surrounded by 50% completely different people than from when I started.
