I worked at Zoic full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The supervisors were knowledgeable and professional. The facilities were fantastic, paid OT meals and snacks on the regular.

    Cons

I haven’t seen the new floor they moved to (within the same building), but when I worked there it felt a bit too dark at times. Not enough windows. Kitchen was way too small.

    Advice to Management

There wasn’t much office culture there, unfortunately. People worked hard but that meant not much for social time.

I have been working at Zoic full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fun projects. Fun people. Competitive pay.

    Cons

Sometimes they lean on overtime being the answer instead of having an adequate team size. Can easily get burnt out and overloaded.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to listen to its employees on recommend best practices.

    I worked at Zoic full-time

    Pros

Free food (Fully stocked kitchen) Monthly food parties Christmas gift board game socials occasionally Salaries decent only if you're at the top of the food chain High end TV shows to work on Location close to skytrain station in downtown

    Cons

    - Not enough team bonding events/socials - teams departments work in silos - Company is relatively cheap - no monthies videos to show work done so far - Lack of leadership - no benefits for contract employees

    Advice to Management

    - make salaries more fair across the board, feels like people at top of food chain gets the most - have a long term plan of company - more social events, build a culture

I have been working at Zoic full-time

    Pros

Good culture, great people to work with, decent pay

    Cons

Seems like the company is not getting any new large projects lately, only very low end TV shows, the company has lost all of its hige end shows and is unable to get new shows that respect the talent this company holds and is loosing talent as well.

    Advice to Management

Loosing your film department was a big mistake and the complete lack of high profile TV projects is just waisting great artists also the talk that some of the executives are unliked in the film industry is definitely not helping Zoic.

I have been working at Zoic full-time

    Pros

They pay OT, hourly, management is generally good, projects are mixed, but seem to be getting better. Multi-site pipeline good.

    Cons

Some production staff are stress heads and aren't helpful. There tends to be a mantra that if you're not running around with your head cut off then you're not working hard enough, it's slowly changing.

    Advice to Management

Work smart, not hard. Allow more time/resources for staff development or they will stagnate. Competition isn't only fierce for bids, it's equally fierce for good talent.
