Pros

Fun/flashy clients and campaigns. Lots of exposure to top talent because of this. Many are eager to work with you. Lots of entertainment touchpoints and integration access Big accounts/big budgets In the "scene"

Cons

Spirits clients are very demanding and SP will do anything to please them (to a fault). Don't expect any loyalty, even if you're doing a great job unless you're one of the agency favorites. 4 top sp agency spirit leads will often switch gears and pander to the clients, sometimes absurd, requests even if it's not what they think is right or our professional opinion, as a way of working. Clients are rude and constantly say crazy things and we were told to deal with it basically. --In a staff meeting once, an agency exec showed the clip in The Devil Wears Prada where Anne Hathaway gets the unreleased Harry Potter books to Meryl Streep's twins ahead of the release to them in time for their vacation, as a way of saying overservice clients to no end, no matter what or how they treat us. I was FLOORED.

Pros

- Cool office and nice job location

Cons

I wish I had never worked at starpower. I was recruited via LinkedIn and received an offer for a higher position than I originally interviewed for. I was reassured there would be thorough training and some "hand-holding" to get me adjusted to this higher position. I accepted the job based on the salary and reassurance that I would b set up for success. Fast forward to a month later, and I felt the pressure and stress in tandem. From the mandatory one-hour response rate to emails to enabling constant client mistakes and confusion, I knew this was actually one of the many toxic media agencies. I was terminated via Teams call instead of in person when my manager had the chance to do the decent thing. My final: never trust a company that says they aren't toxic. They are, if not more toxic, and a little more manipulative.
