#TBT: Let the good times roll! We celebrated Mardi Gras in Conway last week with a fun happy hour! Acxiom associates stopped by after work to enjoy food, drinks and live entertainment from local jazz legend Rodney Block. Some lucky associates even went home with prizes at the end of the night, including a flat screen tv! They’re living the #AcxiomLife! #MardiGras2019
We have the responsibility to guide future generations and are proud to be a multi-year sponsor of the University of Arkansas High School Programming Contest. This event will bring talented students to the Fayetteville campus tomorrow for an exciting #problemsolving & #programming event. These bright minds will showcase their abilities in the C, C++, or Java. They could be our future colleagues at @Acxiom and we are thrilled to see their talents! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMAoe
We had a great time at #COOLWeek as we hosted a work-based experience for 12th grade students in Leander ISD. Students came to our office to “try on” a career & were paired with mentors to learn what it takes to succeed in their chosen profession. Areas of focus included product engineering, IT, project management and finance. We enjoyed hosting the inquisitive, inspiring group and look forward to watching them grow.
Let’s face the facts: #Minorities form 26% of the U.S. population but account for only 10% of the #science and #engineering workers. We believe it is our responsibility to help bridge this gap. Jonathan Nunn, our Senior Information Manager, represented us last weekend at the 29th Annual Project Starting Block hosted by the National Society of Black Engineers. Project Starting Block is a 4-part mentoring program aimed at minority students, allowing them to become familiar with the #STEM disciplines, educational requirements and future career opportunities. Congrats to Jonathan for helping shape our future!
Women in #STEM is the future! We have an #inspiring group of women at Acxiom who are pursuing #STEMcareers and want to help inspire the next generation to follow in their footsteps by taking action. We are proud to announce our sponsorship of the Girls of Promise Program. This initiative tirelessly encourages girls to continue pursuing higher-level science, technology, engineering, and math courses and careers in those fields. Learn more about the program here:
Ever wanted to learn how to be a #digitalmarketer? Acxiom CEO, Dennis Self and Senior Director of Analytics and Strategy Services, Lawrence Hsu, teamed up to host a one-day digital marketing bootcamp to teach graduate students from The University of Texas at Austin just that. The graduate students from the McCombs School of Business and School of Information covered everything from the basics to best practices and learned the skills they need to leverage data and analytics and intelligently engage their future customers across any channel. This was a great opportunity for students to learn how #marketing teams leverage different digital tools and services to engage with consumers and gather the knowledge on what omnichannel marketing is today. Check out the photos of the event here:
We were a proud sponsor of last week's Girls of Promise #Coding Summit. The event promoted the importance of computer science education and taught girls 6-12 how to code. Acxiom's CIO Janet Cinfio and Arkansas' First Lady, Susan Hutchinson also spoke on the importance of working to close the gender gap in tech.
We’re proud to be one of the donors who contributed to the UCA College of Business scholarship program this year. 60 students benefited from these scholarships, which help these high-achieving students more easily afford books, supplies, courses, and more! We love being able to give back to our local universities and students.
Congrats to our associate Cherrylyn on being a part of and graduating from the Conway Area Leadership Institute! The program prepares emerging leaders to serve the Conway community; participants engage in an 8-month curriculum and interact with other community leaders and businesses.
