Care Access works around the world to make the future of health better for everyone. The Future of Medicine health screening program helps people learn more about their health, access health resources, and learn about research opportunities for finding new medicines and cures. Over 100,000 people have now participated in our grassroots health screenings. “For a Better Future” highlights voices advancing research across the nation. The film touches on topics like the importance of improving access to health and research for all, the complex history of clinical research in underrepresented communities, and the power of supporting local leaders to uplift their communities, one person at a time.
Care Access has partnered with the City of District Heights, Maryland to open a Health & Research Center within the District Heights Senior Center in the City’s Municipal Building. As part of Care Access’s ongoing mission to expand access to health and research services beyond traditional healthcare venues, this effort establishes a permanent presence in the heart of the District Heights community and where no-cost health screenings can be easily accessible to residents of the Senior Center and to all adults in the surrounding neighborhoods. “We chose to partner with Care Access because of their team’s expertise, experience, and success in engaging with local communities, especially Black communities, on health and research initiatives. This makes Care Access the perfect fit for the community engagement needed to make our Senior Center a future hub for community health and innovation,” said Mayor Cynthia Miller, City of District Heights.
