“I’ve always found the real-world implications of big data extremely fascinating. Star actually caught on to it pretty early too, and it’s already figured out unique ways to integrate data sciences into its business model. It’s this eagerness to adapt on the part of the organisation and the great team they have, led by Kaushik Das, that made my decision to come on board pretty simple. Currently, I’m working on product development, refining an application that’s going to make the lives of Sales, Advertising and Business teams much easier. My favourite part about working here though is the culture- I can code and watch my favourite movie side by side. You’ve really got the freedom to be yourself while exploring your skillset.” Deepali Singh, Data Sciences #SuperStarStories #LifeatStar #WomenofStar #StarEngineering Explore current openings in our Data Sciences team at http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQo7N

"Life at Star is special because of the depth of impact that our work has on society. A large part of my role at Star was for the leading channel which reaches out to hundreds of viewers daily. During an immersion exercise, I met a young girl from a small town in UP. Her parents were daily wage staff, but she aspired to be an IAS officer because she was inspired by the protagonist of one of our top-rated shows. That’s when it struck me - we just don’t entertain people with our stories, we make deep, real impact on the lives of our viewers and inspire societal change. I’ve spent over six years here across teams in consumer insights and strategy. Over this time, I’ve seen how Star has perfected the amalgamation of right and left brained people to push boundaries – both in storytelling as well as in technology. In fact, in my current role in Data Sciences, I’m collaborating with the writers and data scientists to ensure that we make an impact with every episode.” Arunima Anand, Data Sciences #SuperStarStories #LifeatStar Explore open roles in Data Sciences at http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQJqQ
“'Don’t think about this initiative as a project, think of it as a new business venture, a start-up.' This is what a senior leader told me when I presented to her for the first time on a project I am leading. This spirit of entrepreneurship is exemplified by the big, bold bets Star makes and was one of the factors that drew me to the organisation in the first place. In my journey with Star, I have been challenged by a diverse range of problems – from new business development to digital ad effectiveness and audience measurement. My passions are travelling, football and fitness, I was able to pursue all of them in equal measure in the past year. After all, I made it to Russia to watch the football World Cup! With many more countries to explore and an exciting workplace, I am fortunate to have something to look forward to every day.” Akhtar Jalaludheen, Partnerships and Innovation #SuperStarStories #LifeatStar Explore our current openings at http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQJ91
When Fox Star Studios acquired the biopic, Sanju, we knew that we would need a radically unconventional marketing narrative that mirrored the unbelievable journey of Sanjay Dutt. In the process, we created many firsts in the industry that made Sanju one of the top 3 highest-grossing films in box office history. Abhishek has been a key member of the Star Bengaluru family for 6 years. “Starting off as Group Head, Ad Sales I got my promotion within the first two years of joining. Now I oversee Advertising Sales for Star’s English bouquet of channels for all of South India. It’s a pleasure working with a team of smart colleagues, seeing that we bring our best on every front, whether it’s developing new business, selling advertising space or maintaining our client relationships. My journey so far has been very challenging but equally satisfying. Despite my busy schedule, I ensure to take time out for pursuing my passion of motorcycling. I relate a lot to the cartoon character of Tintin and, like him, await every new adventure coming my way, both personally and professionally!” Abhishek Saseendran, Ad Sales, Star India #SuperStarStories #LifeatStar Explore our current openings at http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQqIP
"Handling celebrity negotiations for a wide network like Star India requires me to develop and maintain relationships with a lot of actors, across Television and Bollywood. This responsibility has helped me grow professionally and achieve the goals which I had set out for myself at the beginning of this stint. My career growth hasn’t come at the cost of my personal life either. I’ve gone from being a bachelor when I joined this company to being a married man blessed with two kids today. This personal journey of growth has been possible only because of the work life balance which I have been able to achieve thanks to Star’s Annual Leave policy. This balance further motivates me to give back my best at work. Kudos to Star for being the employer that it is!” Kshitij Baldota, Business Commercial, Star India. #LifeAtStar #SuperStarStories

Last year when Mumbai submerged under the flood, our Administration team knew their first order of business: to tell employees to stay put inside the office. Star’s HQ became a refuge for 800-odd employees stranded in the office. Read how we created a safe haven: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQ1OR
