It’s day two of #DisneyVoluntEARS Week and there’s incredible energy in our offices! We spent the day putting together meal packs for Rise Against Hunger India and painting greeting cards to comfort kids in hospitals. Proud to give forward.

"As a kid, I spent hours after hours in front of the TV set. I listened to radio shows with equal fascination and wondered what would it be like to be on them. At 28, I decided to follow my heart and give that dream a shot. I worked as a morning show RJ in Bangalore where I got the opportunity to produce the radio shows. I did that for two and a half years before I moved on to television. My journey from being a voiceover artist for Star Suvarna to being a promo producer has been a rollercoaster ride. I'm proud of where my choices have brought me." Sandhya Hegde, On-Air Promotion, Star Suvarna. #WomenOfStar #LifeatStar #SuperStarStories

"When I signed up for the National Geographic Everest Base Camp expedition, I got serious about training - hitting the gym daily, and strengthening my body for the arduous journey. As I flew from Ramechhap to Lukla, the world’s most dangerous airport, the plane swayed from side to side, in Cyclone Fani’s aftermath. Over the next two weeks, along with my team, I traversed 130km from Lukla (2840m) to Base camp (5364m) through the most stunning landscapes in extreme weather. The journey was so enriching - I met people from all over the world including the National Geographic Nepal team and all of us carried the same spirit of adventure. It felt great to be in like-minded company where everyone encourages you to go further and push yourself. On the ninth day, we reached our final destination, the foot of the world’s highest mountain. It was the most unforgettable moment of my life.” Saachi Dhillon, National Geographic India #ImagineMore #EverestBaseCamp
“I gather my life moments and turn them into stories. My childhood was built entirely by women. This league of extraordinary women has encouraged me to chase my dream. My childhood learnings, adolescent antics and the many roles that I played, have helped me create strong women characters for Star Jalsha. Although I didn’t have men around while growing up, it changed in the second half of my life. The professors in college, senior male colleagues, my husband and my seven-year-old son, each of them have shaped my identity, and inspired me to create the supportive male characters for the shows.” Madhuja Banerjee, Programming, Star Jalsha #SuperStarStories #LifeatStar #WomenofStar
"It’s exciting to be part of Star in a role where I’m constantly thinking of how we can better shape the future of the media and entertainment sector. Before Star, I was working with both central and state governments on public-private partnerships in areas like bilateral trade and public reforms. As women, I believe we should strive to be the best in a competitive environment; show empathy in some situations and establish firmness in others to deliver the best outcome for the company. I strongly believe that there will soon be a moment where women leadership will be a genre of its own, so it is okay to be competitive and confident. All we need is equity in opportunity; to evolve grow and be empowered. As leaders, we can facilitate this by mentoring and empowering other women waiting to shine. That's how we will all grow together." Shefali Misra, Head – Public Policy, Star Follow our page for more such incredible journeys. #SuperStarStories #WomenOfStar
