Yesterday our Co-founder and CEO, Rishi Khosla, enjoyed a chat with Neera Nundy at Dasra’s India Philanthropy Forum. They spoke about bringing an entrepreneurial mindset to philanthropy. As they discussed, it’s 100% applicable - anyone starting and then scaling a philanthropic venture is doing something truly entrepreneurial. They also spoke about mentoring, something they have both gained from throughout their working lives. Our thanks and best wishes to Dasra for the great work they are enabling in India.
aryana's newly launched GCC Policy is a strong endorsement of what many global businesses already recognise: India has become one of the world's most important destinations for innovation, technology talent, and global operations. At OakNorth, we've experienced this first-hand. Last year, we expanded into a new, state-of-the-art in Gurugram, creating a collaborative environment for the teams building and supporting critical capabilities across product engineering, data science, credit, risk management, banking operations, and portfolio monitoring. Today, more than 500 colleagues across India play an integral role in OakNorth's global success. They are not simply supporting the business, they are helping to build it. From developing our cloud-native banking platform and proprietary technology solutions to supporting customers and driving innovation across the organisation, their impact is felt every day. As more businesses look to leverage India's world-class talent and innovation capabilities, I believe Gurugram is exceptionally well-positioned to become one of the world's leading GCC destinations. We're proud to be part of that journey and excited to continue investing in our people, our technology, and India's growing role in shaping the future of financial services.

As part of our CSR initiatives in India, we awarded 150 scholarships to meritorious girls pursuing their graduation under the OakNorth STEM Scholarship Initiative, in partnership with Buddy4Study India Foundation. The scholarship certificates were presented by Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi, Padma Bhushan awardee, along with Varun Tuli from OakNorth. The certificate distribution ceremony, held in Dehradun, was attended by over 40 scholars from Uttarakhand, each accompanied by a family member—making it a proud and memorable occasion for all involved.
Eid 2026 at OakNorth India. Sometimes, the best way to bring people together is simply over a good meal, and this Eid, that’s exactly what we did. Our cafeteria turned into a lively, slow-paced lunch space, where calendars took a back seat and conversations stretched a little longer than usual. From festive classics to Navratri-friendly options, the menu reflected what we value most, making room for everyone at the table. With many colleagues having just come out of long fasting, the timing made the gathering feel even more meaningful. It wasn’t just about celebrating festivals, but about creating a moment where teams could pause, connect, and enjoy being together outside of their usual routines. No big agenda, no rush; just good food, easy conversations, and a reminder that culture often shows up in these in-between moments.
Last week, we unveiled our 2025 Annual Report, including £223m ($289m) in pre-tax profit and a 33% increase in gross originations, driven by our continued growth in the US. Since launching in 2015, we've become a leading disruptor serving lower mid-market businesses, backing our customers while maintaining rigorous credit discipline across a decade marked by disruption. To date, we've provided over £15.1bn (c.$20bn) of lending, empowering thousands of entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, supporting over 70,000 jobs, and generating more than £40bn (c.$52bn) in economic value. Today, we're stronger, more ambitious, and more global than ever. With 40% of our originations now coming from the US just two years after entering the market, this is not only testament to the strength of our model, but also to the scale of the opportunity ahead to support even more entrepreneurs. With significant runway for growth across both the UK and US, we are well positioned to make the next decade even more impactful than the first. Thank you to our customers, brokers, and partners for your continued trust, and to our team for their dedication to our mission.
We’re proud to share that OakNorth has been recognised as ‘India’s Leading ESG Entity’ in Dun & Bradstreet India ESG Horizons: Now and Next report. At OakNorth, sustainability is embedded in how we build and grow our business, from supporting entrepreneurs and innovative companies that are driving the transition to a low-carbon economy, to setting ambitious targets for our own operations. We’re committed to achieving net zero across our emissions and to supporting our customers on their own sustainability journeys, with over 20% of our lending supporting businesses that place sustainability at the heart of their offering. This recognition highlights the work being done across our teams to back businesses building greener futures and to help create a more sustainable and resilient economy.
This Holi, bright hues brought a festive touch to our offices across India, and the floor felt a little more lively than usual. There was plenty of chatter, stories exchanged over festive flavours, and teams stepping up for some friendly competition — competing hard, but cheering even harder for the winners. For a few hours, desks made way for laughter, conversations flowed a little more freely, and colleagues came together beyond their usual routines. A simple celebration — full of colour, connection, and great energy. A good reminder that the moments we share matter just as much as the work we do.
