Harmony Day is celebrated annually on 21st March in Australia. This day is all about celebrating diversity and the multicultural backgrounds we have in Australia. Did you know, Australians identify with 300 ancestries? We at Software AG, Sydney office celebrated this day through the “taste of harmony”. We brought in delicious food from our multi-backgrounds and had one great luncheon together! Some of the many tasty items we had were, Australian Mutton Pie, Russian Salad, Chinese Pork & Cabbage Dumplings, Lebanese Rice and Eggplant Curry, South India Meal, Sushi, Indian Rasmalai, Lebanese Namoura and more!
Software AG is proud to embrace equity from all corners of the globe – On International Women’s Day, we want to shine the spotlight on our Women’s Employee Resource Groups around the world. This week, our Women’s Groups hosted 4 regional panel discussions with impactful conversations from our own people, both men and women, to better understand the difference between equality and equity, and to learn more about some of the unique challenges that women face as they grow their careers especially in the IT industry. Why we love Walk & Talk meetings! It's quite simple - just a few steps away from Software AG's headquarters in Darmstadt is an adjacent nature reserve. A perfect environment for meetings outside the office, in the fresh air and a wonderful reason to organize Walk & Talk meetings on on-site days . During regular Walk & Talk meetings, we can share ideas in a very creative way - away from the laptop and desk. Besides being productive while walking, we can set our mind and body free and just enjoy feeling fantastic in good company.
Today is the International Day of Charity to highlight in volunteering activities in support of the most vulnerable in society. Charity is also something we here at Software AG take seriously - isn’t just a catchy phrase. We mean it! It started already back in the 1990s, our company’s co-founder, Dr. Peter Schnell, contributed all his company stock to launch the Software AG foundation; thus, laying the foundation for responsible action that lives on in our company to this day. Today we're so proud that so many colleagues from around the world are stepped into responsible action in helping make this world a better place for all. Our "Give Back to the World" initiative reinforces all of us to encourage one day per year to do social or environmental projects. The "MoveYourFeet" campaign brings Sport and Charity together. Last week our CHRO Dr. Elke Frank was able to join our very first Leadership Conference at Lufthansa Seeheim Centre, Darmstadt. The overarching topics of Leadership and Culture set the stage for the impressive 1.5-day agenda. It was a wonderful opportunity to emphasize what leadership really means. For Elke it is all about actively listening to the colleagues and creating that space for them to feel heard; empowering our teams, so that they feel confident and supported in the work they do and setting direction, so that goals are clear and visions transparent. Finally, as leader you have to know what you stand for. For her was the best thing though seeing so many people getting together in person again after what felt like an exceptionally long time of online-only interactions. A huge thank you to our organizer Claudia Schmenger, our hosts Courtney Brown and Adam Podracky two of our rock star talents , and our special guests for making this conference an enormous success!
