One year we launched Yugo to our students. We achieved so many great things over the last 12 months. We could not have done it without the energy, commitment and passion of our Yugoer's. Happy 1st Birthday Yugo. Take a sneak peek on that has happened.
We plan activities around holistic wellness, alongside access to systems and benefits to ensure that our Yugoer's are well supported in their wellness journey. This January, we are kicking off with a Wellness Webinar - Optimizing your performance and well-being hosted by Wellbeing Strategist Bobbi Hartshorne which is available to all of our global team.
Each year we come together to celebrate each other through Peer-to-Peer nominations and awards. This is an opportunity for our global Yugoer's to recognize those that have lived and breathed our values, set new standards within our pillars, delivered exceptional experiences to our students and supported each other to deliver objectives. Our team in Denver support our USA and global operations to ensure that we deliver the best experience for our students. We've experienced growth this year which is not without growing pains. We are grateful to our team who work tirelessly to support each other achieve our objectives.
Meet Ashleigh Foster, our awesome Assistant Residence Manager from University Square in Melbourne, Australia! 🌟 Ashleigh is a tremendous leader who is known for her positive attitude and big energy. After just a few months with Yugo, Ashleigh challenged herself by taking on massive additional responsibilities, successfully managing two Yugo properties and earning her a promotion. Ashleigh's helpful advice creatively incorporates Yugo’s values and are wise words we can all live by: “There’s so much opportunity and growth with Yugo. Be BOLD - ask questions, as growth comes from curiosity. Internal promotions are a REAL thing, you can achieve this by being attentive and OPEN to new ideas. Hard work is recognized. Most importantly be TRUE, be you as your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, and how you leave others feeling after an experience with you becomes your trademark.”
Today we are celebrating the recent opening of Yugo Bermejales - our first student residence in Sevilla, Spain! Centered around a beautiful courtyard with numerous common areas and lots of natural light, this beautiful space promotes community, leisure, and well-being for students in this historic area. And, fun fact, 60 percent of the space was built using industrialized and sustainable techniques, contributing to a lower carbon footprint, water and energy conservation, and waste reduction. Best of luck to all the students who will call this space home during the academic year!
We have started our annual 30x 30 fitness challenge at Yugo. This means that our global Yugoers have signed up to participate for 30 minutes of exercise every day for the month of November. Creating healthy habits and taking some time for exercise is just one of the many different ways that our Yugoer’s look after themselves. We’ve had over 100 people sign-up and look forward to sharing our team activities along the way. Let’s go Yugo!

Diversity and Inclusion is something we are incredibly proud of at Yugo. We are always looking for ways in which we can continue to evolve in these areas. This week included a webinar run by Emily Banks and Enna on Neurodiversity. We want to attract and retain the best talent. Through knowledge sharing and creating best practices we always aspire to have a workplace where people thrive.
Learning happens in all shapes and forms. This week we were so pleased to introduce bite-size learning opportunities 💡for our global team. We held our first Masterclass Webinar on The Ultimate Guide to Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) with Rui Barros, our Global Chief Operating Officer. It was so great to see our Yugoers come together from around the world 🌎to learn about our business activities and how to apply this knowledge in achieving our objectives together. 🥰
