We are proud to share that iManage employee Lucy Melendrez-Diaz was recently featured in a piece for Built in Chicago titled The Boomerang Effect: What Pulled 3 Team Members Back to Former Employers.
Every year, our industry placement programme offers students local to our London and Belfast offices the chance to gain real-world exposure to all things iManage and truly #MakeItMeanSomething. With opportunities across Engineering, Data Science, Product Management, Cloud Operations, Customer Support, and more, our 12-month-long iManage U programme provides students with the chance to experience a dynamic technology company first-hand and be given an opportunity to make an enormous impact that is felt across the organisation. With our 2022/23 programme wrapping up and our interns returning to university for their final year of study, we took some time to speak to one of our Engineering interns in London, Josh Halliwell, as he reflected on his time with iManage over the past year.
Embarking on a journey from law to technology is no small feat, yet Becky Bloom managed to seamlessly transition from a career as a litigation attorney to becoming a Senior Product Manager at iManage. For this interview with Built In, Becky shares insights into her career evolution, discusses her passion for technology, and offers valuable advice for women considering a similar leap into the tech industry.
In alignment with our goal to create an irresistible company culture and provide a workplace where every employee thrives, we launched our iMAway flexible time off policy in 2023. After gathering feedback from employee surveys, conducting various focus groups, and benchmarking against other organizations in the market, leadership heard the desire for more flexibility around time off and iMAway was created. iMAway is a best-in-class flexible time off policy that meets the diverse needs of our global employee base, treats our people like owners, and builds upon a foundation of trust and respect. At the foundation of the program is personalized flexibility, which means time away when you need it and for a variety of reasons. This includes vacation, big life changes, rest & recharging, spending time with loved ones, volunteering, and many other things.
At iManage, growth opportunities extend beyond your original career path, with many possibilities to thrive outside of your current role. Harnessing the power of internal mobility has proven to be of great benefit for both individual employees and the organization at large, so we make a point to empower our employees to take control of their careers. To celebrate this unique opportunity, we want to share an internal success story from Javid Ismail, a London-based Support Engineer turned Software Engineer. From starting as a Support Engineer for iManage Indexer to moving into a Software Engineer role supporting the same solution, Javid is a testament to building relationships and not being afraid to follow one’s passions. We sat down with Javid and his new manager, Sangeetha Sivanantham, to learn more about his journey to Engineering.
Pride month in the U.S. is dedicated to celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community, reminding them that they belong and are valued. This June, our LGBTQ+ iMPact Community, iMProud, led the charge to create spaces for iManage's LGBTQ+ community and allies to connect, learn and celebrate with each other. Notably, iMProud also collaborated with iMBlack on a collaborative fundraising effort for Brave Space Alliance, an organization that provides programming, resources, and services for LGBTQ+ people on the South and West sides of Chicago. Closing out June, and reaching their fundraising goal, the iMPact Communities of iManage are continuing to contribute towards the diverse, inclusive and equitable initiatives that are upheld here at iManage. We value all of the unique differences that make iManage stand out and we encourage all of our employees to stay curious, and continue to learn and understand how diverse backgrounds bring innovation.
Juneteenth holds immense historical significance and represents freedom, unity, and the ongoing struggle for equality. To honor this momentous occasion, our iMBlack iMPact Community organized a lunch and learn that included a Family Feud-Style game to educate our employees on the historical significance and its relevance in today’s society. At iManage, we are committed to diversity, equality, and inclusivity and we encourage our employees to engage in activities that will continue to strengthen our collective understanding, foster empathy, and contribute to building a more inclusive and equitable future.
Boomerang employees are the rising stars in today's talent landscape, and at iManage, we've had the pleasure of welcoming back incredible individuals who couldn't resist our magnetic company culture, Lucy Melendrez-Diaz, Mark Richman, and Danielle Tucker to name a few. Lucy, a remarkable boomerang employee who left us at the end of 2021 and returned just under a year later perfectly captures the essence of our culture, saying, "iManage has attracted and retained some of the most talented, kind, and authentic people around." Her motivation to rejoin was the opportunity to work with passionate advocates for our products, customers, and partners—people who supported her through thick and thin.
At, iManage we prioritize the growth and development of our employees, with the ability to own your career path. By joining our team, you will continue to make new discoveries about yourself and gain new experiences in your day-to-day work. This is why we place great emphasis on promoting internal mobility, as we recognize that not every career path is linear. We sat down with Justin Graham to learn more about his career growth and experience changing teams, as well as advice for pursuing a new career path within iManage.
