Job Title: General Ledger Manager – Record to Report (R2R)

Location: GAOC (Global Accounting Operations Center)

Role Overview

The General Ledger Manager will lead end-to-end General Ledger process within the Record to Report (R2R) function, ensuring robust financial close execution, strong control environment, and continuous transformation through automation and AI. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and leadership to drive efficiency, compliance, and scalability of global GL processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Own and manage month-end and quarter-end close processes ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Monitor end-to-end close lifecycle from Oracle postings through consolidation and reporting (HFM, TM1, EDW)
  • Drive proactive issue resolution and escalation management during close
  • Oversee the projects accounting and related sub-ledger management including close

Systems & Tools

  • Develop strong hands-on expertise in Oracle ERP (R12 and Oracle Cloud) and SAP ERP, to evolve into SME in these systems and tools.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of financial systems and tools including ARM , HFM , TM1, AGIS

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Perform and review QRS, SOX controls, IPE certifications , ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks
  • Conduct quarterly access certifications and enforce access governance
  • Support quarter-end and year-end audits , including audit requests
  • Lead and participate in SOX walkthroughs, process reviews, and auditor interactions

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage a team of 12+ accounting professionals
  • Drive performance management, coaching, and capability development
  • Ensure accountability and high-quality delivery across processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with General Accounting, Finance AP, AR, FP&A, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with IT to enhance understanding of systems and tools, drive system improvements, and support ongoing automation initiatives.
  • Ensure seamless integration across subledger and GL processes
  • Drive coordination across global teams and resolve dependencies

Leadership Engagement

  • Interact regularly with leadership and global stakeholders
  • Provide structured updates on close status, risks, and key insights
  • Support executive presentations and financial reviews

Automation & AI Enablement

  • Identify automation opportunities within GL and PA processes and drive implementation
  • Enable use of AI tools and digital solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Champion continuous improvement and transformation initiatives

Project & Transformation Leadership

  • Lead or co-lead key GL and PA initiatives , including system implementations and process transformations
  • Support enterprise-wide programs such as close optimization, AGIS, and EPM initiatives
  • Support system implementations, enhancements, and UAT

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Com/MBA (Finance) / CA / CPA or equivalent
  • 15+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance with strong expertise in GL and R2R processes
  • Proven experience with Oracle and SAP ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of financial systems including ARM, HFM, AGIS
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams in a global/shared services environment

  • Strong communication and presentation skills , with ability to engage leadership
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced close environment
  • Proven track record in automation, AI adoption, and process transformation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience.

  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
