      Alcon has always been flexible with me when it comes to needing to take time off and even held my position during FMLA for medical issues. The benefits are good and offer a competitive 401k match

      Depending on the field, career progression can feal stagnated. I've worked as IT support for many years now but haven't had any meaningful opportunities for career progression outside of developmental roles, which don't offer compensation accordingly in my opinion.

      Overall Experience My experience working on the RPA project was challenging and not particularly positive. While the company offers opportunities to work with automation technologies, the execution and management of the RPA initiative fell short of expectations. The environment often felt discouraging for those who wanted to innovate, learn, and contribute meaningfully to process improvements. True mentorship and constructive guidance were hard to find, which made personal growth a constant uphill climb. Leadership and Management Leadership at both the top and project levels requires significant improvement. There appeared to be a lack of effective communication, people management, and fairness in decision-making. Employee recognition and growth opportunities seemed to depend more on personal rapport than on performance or skill. Constructive feedback was rarely encouraged, and many good ideas were overlooked, which negatively affected team morale and motivation. True mentorship and constructive guidance were hard to find, which made personal growth a constant uphill climb. Work Environment and Culture The overall culture within the RPA project team was not supportive. Collaboration among employees was limited, and there was little emphasis on teamwork or mentoring. At times, the atmosphere felt hierarchical, with limited respect shown toward developers’ contributions. This culture made it difficult for individuals to feel valued or empowered in their roles. True mentorship and constructive guidance were hard to find, which made personal growth a constant uphill climb. Technical Challenges Despite migrating to newer environments, older and non-standard code practices continued to be followed, leading to frequent system incidents and inefficiencies. Much of the work revolved around support and bug fixing rather than meaningful automation development or innovation. Advice to Management It would greatly benefit the organization to encourage transparency, and invest in leadership training. Building a culture that values merit, open communication, and continuous learning would significantly improve employee engagement and project success. Conclusion Overall, my experience was a learning opportunity in understanding the importance of strong leadership, modern technical standards, and healthy workplace culture. I would recommend future employees carefully evaluate the project structure and management style before joining, especially for RPA-related roles. This experience taught me what kind of workplace culture truly matters — one where voices are heard, talent is recognized, and progress is valued over politics. For anyone considering an RPA role here, go in with your eyes open. It’s less about automation and more about navigating automation chaos.

      Attractive pay and benefits. Hybrid work and flexibility, depends on roles. Beautiful office, great facilities provided ranging from vending machine, pantry snacks, table tennis, wellness room, mother’s room and many others. Management listens to employees and implement solutions. Various engagement activities - sports activities, festive celebrations, CSR, diversity and inclusion, and many others. Talent management offering and employee development are solid. Always focus on helping employees to develop themselves.

      I work with a great team of people. The company pays well and has great benefits.

      Cons

      No real growth opportunities to advance your career. They offer free training but extremely few stretch assignments. It’s not a fair process to obtain opportunities or new jobs. They would rather hire external candidates than promote from within. The diversity and inclusion program is strictly performative and provides no real value.

      My experience at this company was extremely disappointing. Despite promising flexibility and benefits like unlimited PTO, the reality was quite the opposite. Taking even a single sick day became nearly impossible, even after extended periods of overtime and high workload. There is a consistent pattern of miscommunication or misinformation from management — whether regarding responsibilities, benefits, or expectations. The work environment lacks transparency, and morale suffers as a result. Many skilled and talented colleagues ended up leaving due to the lack of support, ethical leadership, and recognition. Unfortunately, the culture promotes burnout rather than growth or balance.
