Does Foster Farms give compassionate leave?

Pros

Well known company, some employees are ok.

Cons

This is for the turkey division, plant 1. The company pays minimum wage, and the cap is only slightly higher. You do back breaking work, for up to 12 hours. You are forced into a union that does not care about the people, they are a union for the company. Supervisors are many times unprofessional, and inexperienced. They claim to have a drug free stance, but many of the employees are high, or talk about using. The contractors (third party company) are not trained well, unless they actually stay, ESPECIALLY during Turkey season (mid-October to Thanksgiving). The company always had issues with pay for days that are supposed to be (i.e. bereavement leave, holidays, etc.). If an employee is injured on the job, the company does it's best to make sure it is the employee's fault. Smoking is permitted less than 20 ft from openings into building (and there is not just cigarettes being smoked). Trying to talk to anyone in the office is a joke, same with the union representatives. Benefits packages are TOO expensive, you have to work serious overtime just to pay for your family.

Advice to Management

Seriously revamp your management, if you really care for your employees, consider copying Livingston chicken plant, de-union from UFW8 and go with a better union after the cooling period.

Does Foster Farms offer parental leave?

Pros

Foster Farms is a family owned company which is why it has kept and retained employees throughout the years. I love working for this company because they care about there employees and you don't see the corporate greed like other companies. The benefits are great, you get to have days off when you need them and you are also treated like family. Upper Management is great and you don't have them breathing down your neck at every instance.

Cons

Pay could be better as well as shorter hours.
