I worked at Foster Farms full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good for new electrician's learning troubleshooting, schooling opportunity, healthcare, steady job.

    Cons

Down times, lack of pay, hours very and they like to change shifts around. Union overcharges for dues when they have no power to really help. 2 times the normal union dues. Radeos don't always have the best reception, they take months to give you access to needed areas.

    Advice to Management

Have a radeo, keys, access card ready for your employee, Consentrate on your training books, get them to your employee early not later, train them in testing equipment, you have leads use them for training as you as management do not have the time you need to train them.

I worked at Foster Farms full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Dedicated Employees Good Benefits Ability to move within the company, role dependent

    Cons

Company does not adhere to their own Core Values. There is no work/life balance, though this varies between depts. No funding for training or education. Eliminated their internal HR training group. If you want to enhance your skills it must be done on your own time at at your own expense. No appreciation for their employees and the personal sacrifices they make to keep the business running. Continually cuts budgets...

    Advice to Management

Rethink how you manage your business and how you treat your employees. You may retain local employees who have no other options, but you won't retain any strong talent recruited from outside of the valley.

    Pros

Friendly people, helpful coworkers, and constant feedback

    Advice to Management

My only advice to management would be to be open to discussing potential means to increase productivity and actually talk to supervisors and managers about what's happening rather than assuming what's happening based on numbers alone.
