Does Individual Restaurant have any sort of mentoring programme?

Pros

Some staff are great to work with

Cons

Head office clearly haven't worked in hospitality or it was so long ago they don't remember. Expect staff to provide world class service whilst providing next to no support, training system doesn't exist. Have an expectation for sites to function on absolute minimum wage budget, which then puts a lot of pressure on the existing staff and scares of new staff as they end up doing the work of 2 waiters/chefs/bartenders. It's a battle to get any sort of pay increase even if you've committed yourself to the business for 2+ years. Head office mess up payslips nearly every month and then it takes month to get your pay sorted. Maintenance and care of the sites is awful, so many things falling apart and just get cowboy solutions.

Advice to Management

Listen to staff, give staff who have committed to the business more benefit and recognize them Spend money on fixing the sites and improving staff morale and stop lying to the staff about food quality and what we can do and cant do.

Expect staff to provide world class service whilst providing next to no support, training system doesn't exist.

A good place to work for. Management is supportive. They try to understand your needs. If you work hard you get good tips. Colleagues are friendly.

Cons

Hospitality is not an easy job. It requires a lot of patience. Sometimes is hard to achieve a good life balance but that is expected for a role like this.
