What is the hiring process like at Safeway?

I cant think of any

Bad organization of hiring process, no flexibility.

Consistent work hours and easy hiring process

Some older male employees were inappropriate.

Able to wear what you want over the night shift. Decent benefits.

The hiring process is kinda dull. Felt like it took a year to get hired.

Love the customers, coworkers, and hours

No support from upper management. Too many double standards. High turnover of employees. No say in hiring process. Left hostage to employess.

They took the interview process smoothly and extended a respectful hiring offer.

The lack of coordination among the managers led to me losing my job.

Safeway is exactly what you expect from a retail job. You deal with customers, listen to what they want even if it's unreasonable, and get through the day trying not to get in trouble. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great.

The worst part about it was that they tried to gimp me on my hours since I had a limit of 24 hours, but they constantly tried to schedule me for 40. I ran an entire starbucks kiosk with a team of three, and they expected to keep it up fifteen hours a day. I'm not quite sure what was stopping them from just hiring more but the fact that it went on for several months led to me quitting.

Great pay and benefits. Long hours, unmotivated staff due to low hourly wages. Depending on the store hiring can be a challenge as not all stores are near public transportation
