Does US Postal Service offer employee discounts?

Pros

Stability Benefits Career Salary Improved Sight-hand coordination Drivers Training College tuition reimbursement Employee discount at HP computers, Verizon, Gyms CCAs travel to different stations around Atlanta, sometimes you might have a primary station.

Cons

Long Hours 9-12hrs daily. ( CCA work for the entire city of Atlanta, stay mentally flexible)( Meaning you are shipped out to different stations daily) No work/ life balance for assistants. Significant amount of Regular Drivers calling out daily. Reduced Training regiment

Advice to Management

Improve empathy towards CCAs, emphasis and encourage positive culture, Hire quality Supervisors, and Managers.

Does US Postal Service have a pension plan?

Pros

Health ins, pension, job security, 13 days sick leave/yr which can roll over, up to 5 wks paid vacation/yr, overtime has been plentiful over the years, premium for working at night (10%) and/or weekends (25%)

Cons

At NHP&DC, we work in shifts. Takes a while to get day hours. Difficult, sometimes frustrating work environment. Required to work weekends and most likely evenings and weekends starting. Work can be physically demanding and boring. Supervisors not the most qualified people, just people who do not like working.

Does US Postal Service offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

Good benefits and pay without higher education, chance for advancement for those who want it Some excellent workers, but more of an exception.

Cons

Difficult working conditions, terrible hours, ineffective management, bureaucratic nightmare. Lack of consistent policies and work methods.

Advice to Management

Better management training and recruitment. Management wages are much too low with no opportunity for individual achievement (pay for performance system is a joke). Bad behavior and horrible leadership is tolerated and rewarded at mid management level.

Good benefits and pay without higher education, chance for advancement for those who want it Some excellent workers, but more of an exception.
