      Anonymous interview candidate
      Manila, Manila
      No offer

      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at ANZ (Wellington, Wellington)

      Interview

It was a low bar to get in and get the offer. Interview was conducted in a room full of other people also interviewing at the same time. Role is essentially a call center so not too surprising.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ months. I interviewed at ANZ (Manila, Manila) in Mar 2023

      Interview

I did not feel that I was dealing with humans, unethical, no respect for time. Bad experience for ANZ VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE for Collections Associate on March 16, 2023. Maybe it would be better if this was an onsite interview instead of virtual. Using modern technology should give convenience not the opposite. Extremely poor technology that they use. I logged in before 8am with hope to be one of the first people on the queue to get the operations interview on the line. It did not happen because from 8am I had to log out and log in repeatedly as per recruiter's advice she could not transfer me to the ops interview. Which is unbelievable because I already tried to use the app and browser. It is a technical issue on their end. Then I got transferred finally later on. While I was already talking and being interviewed by the manager, to my surprise I got transferred to someone for no reason. The recruiter admitted that it was because of a technical issue on their end. Same work around for troubleshooting that I did again just to be transferred to an ops interview. I logged out and logged in repeatedly as what the recruiter instructed me to do. It was very inconvenient because it took me almost 6 hours just to be transferred to the interviewer again. From 8AM I was there virtually until almost 2PM to get my turn again. When I finally got transferred again to the ops interview. The sound quality is very poor, irritating echo sound on my end, cutting in and out. The interviewer advised that she is also experiencing the same on her end. Ideally I wanted the communication to be clear. It is my one shot to get the job after all. Since I got tired of troubleshooting for several hours. I just decided to continue to get done with the ops interview even while experiencing the technical issue of their system. The ops interviewer could not tell me when to expect the result of my application. I had to email the recruiter after the ops interview. She replied the following day advising me that I have to wait for up to 15 business days. For the timeframe that was very long just to know if you passed or failed. Fast forward to 12 days and I sent the email again to the recruiter. She replied that I did not pass. I have no problem whether they passed me or not, but the point is for up to 3 weeks is the timeframe for them to get the result? Seriously? I think they do not have respect for your time. Since I was not selected I think it would be better if the update could have been given in 2 business days. I have been thinking of the result everyday since after the operations interview until I made a follow up email on March 27, 2023. For learning experience and maybe to help my future job application. I asked the recruiter why I was not selected but the recruiter is just quiet, no response. To my understanding it is convenient for them to ignore the concern, be quiet and they do not really care. I felt my time was disrespected. Which is contrary to the ICARE values that they advertise. R stands for respect. I also felt that I was not able to present myself at my best during the interview because I dealt with their technical issue first for several hours and even while being interviewed the communication line was very poor and irritating. I preferred to raise this concern to ANZ Manila but there was not even a survey to raise feedback. There was no way to be heard. I think they are not even interested in listening, which is convenient for them. I am just an applicant after all.
