      Middle/Senior FrontEnd Developer Interview

      30 May 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Málaga
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Addison Global (Málaga) in May 2018

      Interview

In theory the scope of the offer was to find a FrontEnd developer either Senior or Middle, but it seems they were not sure totally (In my own opinion, they were trying to find someone better than a Senior FrontEnd to cover a Middle/Senior position). This process took me 4 long no feedback steps. 1 - Just a first contact to talk about general conditions of the offer and to introduce myself with HHRR (this was good because the HHRR was really nice... a good thing to mention is that the HHRR was not from Addison Global). 2 - Technical task that could be done at home, with a due date max. 6 days. that consists in a very simple React application consuming an API with data. (no feedback after sent it, and to be honest I do not know if they reviewed it). 3 - Technical face-to-face interview: This was specially strange because most of the questions they made were like "random" questions and in my opinion it was like the interview was not prepared at all by them. Those random questions were based on my previous answers to the first ones. (No feedback after this step) 4 - Something they called "Whiteboard interview/exercise" in which they asked me a very generic question (F.I.: How could you made a blog?... the answers could be any imaginable ones). During your explanation about what technologies would you use (backend included... and justifying the answer) they asked me extra questions and they added more aceptance criteria to the initial ones. (no feedback after this step, as usual) I need to say that at the end of the 3rd step, they know very well if you are suitable for the role or not, anyway they make you waste your time with an extra interview. After all this VERY LONG and WITHOUT FEEDBACK process, they told me simply that "I am clever and I have a good background but not enough for the role". What does it mean?? I am stupid or what? In conclusion, the process was a completely waste of time and to be honest, being rejected of this offer does not mean that you are not suitable for the role, the opposite. Maybe the offer should not be "Middle/Senior FrontEnd". Instead of that, it should be something like "Super Senior FrontEnd with good backend background (low salary expectations for the role is a plus*)". *Considering the salary range for the offer, there's no developer, with the expertise needed to pass this process, that could accept this salary.
