I applied first applied online and received an online code challenge shortly after. After submitting the code challenge, I was contacted about a week or two later about setting up a phone call for the first technical interview. The first call went great, the problem was solved with a little time afterwards to spare with constant feedback from the interviewer. The second call was a bit different. First off, the interviewer logged onto the AirBnb Interview Skype about 15 minutes late. To make up for his tardiness, he proceeded to skip introductions and start off by hurriedly reading me the problem. The speed of his voice along with a somewhat thick Chinese accent made it a little hard to understand, and some time was spent clarifying what he wanted from me. I did the problem in mostly silence, besides the rushed answers he gave me when I posed questions about the problem. Ultimately, I almost finished the question when he said "Time's up. Any questions?", but it didn't quite make the cut. To be fair, I do believe he gave me the extra 15 minutes back toward the interview, but it also seemed like he made his hiring decision right after I took the call. I got an email about a week later saying i failed.
