This was for the role of Assistant to head of film and tv. Horrible recruitment process through Creative Access. They put everyone on a zoom call to see if they fit the diversity quota. Presented the list to the employer. Then employer picked 5 people to interview in person. I was lucky enough to be one of them…NOT. Arrived to the interview and was greeted warmly. HOWEVER, the interview was with one person , this particular person was basically hiring her own assistant. She scrutinised me and passed it off as being playful and laid back. There was no panel of senior employees with a set discussion or set questions. This woman proceeded to reveal details of other interviewees outcomes (laughing it off that they didn’t get the job). She compared my CV to others , showing me theirs and saying I need improve mine. Fair enough, I understand and appreciate feedback but that is done post-interview. She had little consideration for the fact she asked interviewees to come down to London and then wasted my time with wishy washy conversation. She didn’t even explain the job role. After the interview I definitely felt deflated and not very hopeful. However, I was excited receive feedback that would aid me in future job applications. I waited 4+ weeks for an outcome even when the allocated time was 1 week. The email I was provided with gave me no feedback, said my interview was amazing but they went with someone more fit for the company. All I can say is extremely unprofessional. They offer minimum wage for central London job and require more than minimum wage qualification (degree and above). Not impressed with the process and frankly glad I dodged a bullet here.
