I interviewed for a Software Developer I position at AllState's campus outside of Chicago. I was not really aware of their interview process, I had expected to be asked about my development experience but they asked the most basic of interview type questions, like what was one time you had to face adversity working with a team and how did you react. I got absolutely no questions about my software development abilities which threw me off. I was not prepared to be asked the same type of generic interview questions I was asked when I interviewed for my first job as a teen and hadn't ever had real difficulties working with other people so I struggled to answer the question which probably led to my rejection. The manager I spoke with didn't seem very engaged, I'm sure she had a ton of interviews to go through. Overall the phone screen lasted about 20 minutes and I might have waited a day or two before I got my rejection. The process for the interview was well done, they had another person communicate through email and it was all professionally done.
