Alscient interview questions

It feels like they may have skipped a few steps. Upon applying for the job I received an interview within two days, the interview itself was fine and I was informed it would be the first of two interviews. The interview questions were easy enough, just questions about my experience and I was told the hard questions were to be saved for the second interview. The interviewer was polite and informed me he had only been working at the company for 6 months, the interview closed and I was informed I would receive an update next week about my status. The next day I had a missed call and no voicemail, I called back and was told it was from alscient and I was offered the job over the phone, no second interview needed, I gave verbal confirmation and was asked when I would like to begin. The next day I was then emailed for proof of eligibility to work within the UK. Overall the interview process was very easy, however it all felt very strange just how casual it all was and since I received the offer there has not been much communication which has led to a very stressful time of me feeling out of the loop.

Very low quality affair. Initial 20 minute Chat, followed by a "formal" longer chat with a more senior manager and some basic questions from peers in under an hour. No hands on test. Really its simply "can you do the grunt work, grunt"?
