I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Amarchand & Mangaldas (New Delhi) in Apr 2012
Interview
It takes a long time. Lazy HR team!! There are various teams and it is very difficult for you o choose your partner and all partners are not good. Its a sea of Indian egoist lawyers - try and find the best one suited to you
I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Amarchand & Mangaldas
Interview
First round of discussion generally happens with the HR team. No serious discussions. Later, mostly Partners or seniors in the team are present in the interview session.
One must know the overall nature of work in the practice area. Naming some of the big transactions and their crux, especially done by the local team can earn big time brownie points.
International exposure is great to mention, even if its is earned over a random telephonic conversation. Do mention them.
Most importantly, be energetic, positive and try not to show any kind of limitation as far as work may demand at AMSS.
Prepare bullet points on recent corporate law amendments, comes handy.
Loving the place you want to join gives confidence to interviewers since the biggest challenge (this) firm faces is, attrition.
Goodluck

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Amarchand & Mangaldas
Interview
The time between the interview and offer takes about 2-3 months. The agreement is only given to you on the day of joining. Not much flexibility on negotiating, its usually a take or leave it offer. Interview technical questions are fairy basic and its more important how you answer the question then the actual answer. The interview was for 20 minutes.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amarchand & Mangaldas (New Delhi)
Interview
I applied through a contact for the Litigation Department. I had two rounds of interview and a technical question round. The interview was extremely rigorous. I was asked questions from the Arbitration Act, Contract Act, Specific Performance, CPC, Evidence Act and Company Law. I was asked very detailed and very specific questions. The technical questions were about a client facing situation and one arbitration/company law related question.
