Interview
Date of Interview: September 12, 2024
Position: Frontend Developer
Location: Virtual/Remote
Company: XYZ Corp
Stages: 3
Stage 1: Initial Screening (Phone Interview)
The first stage was a phone interview with a recruiter. It lasted for about 30 minutes. The recruiter asked about my background, experience with React, and my role in previous projects. I briefly explained my work on the to-do app, income/expense tracker, and the dynamic websites I developed.
They also asked basic questions to gauge my familiarity with core web technologies, such as:
How does CSS Grid differ from Flexbox?
What are some key ES6 features in JavaScript?
How do you manage state in a React app?
It was quite conversational, and they provided some insight into the company culture and the role's requirements.
The interview process typically begins with resume screening to shortlist candidates. Successful applicants proceed to phone screenings, technical assessments, and multiple rounds of on-site or virtual interviews. Following reference checks, offers are extended and negotiated.
