Strange experience all together. First interview cancelled when I’ve arrived - I was told that something came up and that they would reschedule, which they did so I came second time around. This time i was interviewed not by a hiring manager but a person who deals with legalities such as contracts etc. She asked me among other things if I knew NZ legislation - I said I knew not to discriminate, fundamentally I find people and present them to hiring managers I don’t deal with contracts that’s her job. No where in job description it said that I had to deal with legalities. I was rejected on the basis of not knowing legislation though they could not elaborate specifically what that meant. In the end internal person with no recruitment experience was hired for a job - I was told by recruiters. I’m still puzzled by the whole process management, I don’t wish I’ve joined I just never came across this level of incompetence from HR team itself.
