Interview
Recruiter was very nice and personable, but there was some miscommunication along the way. Asked for feedback and never heard back. Manager I met with was very kind and asked great questions. First, I had a phone screening interview and then a follow-up interview with the manager. Long interview process, next steps were presenting your portfolio in front of the UX team, then meet with other teams, then one more interview.

Interview
The interview process was intense but not overdone. It was easy to see the reasoning behind each step. By the end, I felt like both Appfolio and myself had all the necessary information to make the best choice moving forward. Something that felt really unique about this interview process was that Appfolio really seemed to want to get a sense of what I wanted out of this job, then did their best to place me in a role that fit that criteria.

Part of Appfolio's interview process involved critiquing a workflow. I thought this was fantastic because unlike a traditional design challenge where an applicant could be met with a random problem, I was able to get a sense of the work that I would be doing with Appfolio while showing them my level of expertise at the same time. It truly felt like the interview was a two-way street which was really appreciated.
